Description:
While most people think of bullying as something done to children by other children, bullying can be perpetrated and experienced by people of any age – including older adults in long term care and other service settings.  To address this emerging area of concern, this webinar will focus on defining senior bullying, understanding bullying behavior, and discovering the impact of bullying on both victims and bystanders.  Potential interventions and strategies to create a respectful, caring community will be emphasized. 

Details regarding access to the Webinar will be provided by University of Illinois Extension prior to the start date.
Objective:

  • Define characteristics of bullies, victims, and bystanders to understand bullying behavior.
  • Learn the extent of impact of bullying on the community.
  • Identify and recognize potential bullying situations. 
  • Examine a framework for developing interventions to address bullying in your community.
