This innovative and unique educational event will offer creative insight, tools and resources to help professionals communicate effectively with persons with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and assist caregivers with successful care strategies.

Objective:
  • Recognize the salient differences between Alzheimer’s and dementia types.
  • Identify communication approaches that are effective at different stages of disease.
  • Discuss the process of assessing a caregivers readiness to effectively support their loved one.
  • Select the appropriate evidence-based interventions to address functional and cognitive deficits of persons with Alzheimer’s/dementia.
