The webinar will discuss how patients can more effectively use health information to communicate to their health care provider and how technology can provide support for busy providers.

Objective:
  • Explain some barriers to use and comprehension of health information in EHR patient portals.
  • Illustrate different enhanced EHR portal message formats to support self-care.
  • Discuss the use of Conversational Agents (CAs) to support learning for health by combining benefits of face-to-face provider/patient conversation with benefits of technology (i.e., ready access to information when and where needed).
  • Define the concept of teaching back in the context of healthcare and CA-based communication.
