Description:
This live webinar will outline concepts related to implicit bias and its impacts. Participants will learn strategies to recognize when bias is occurring as well as means to reduce bias in health care practice.  This program meets the standards outlined in Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation Section 1130.500, requiring all health care professionals complete a compliant one-hour course in implicit bias awareness training.
Objective:

Upon completion of this training, participants will

  1. Understand the concepts of explicit and implicit bias and differential impact of both.
  2. Examine causes and function of implicit bias.
  3. Consider personal biases, their foundations, and strategies to moderate responses so negative outcomes of bias are reduced.
