Wendy Berk is the program
analyst for the REST (Respite Education & Support Tools)
program. She researches, plans, coordinates and develops
comprehensive reports, which support strategic planning and the administration
of the REST program. Wendy joined the REST team in January 2014
as the Illinois REST program coordinator, coming in with a passion to help
those who care for others. She sees the great potential of REST and looks
forward to seeing the program grow throughout the country in the years to come. Wendyfinds her work as a REST master
trainer particularly gratifying. “I have been inspired by the passion and
empathy of those we meet,” she said. “Our trainers care so deeply about making
a difference. I love knowing the REST program goes out into communities,
reaching so many people.” Since 1999, Wendy has enjoyed a career with Marklund,
providing leadership in a wide range of roles. Wendyhas served as director of education
for the Marklund Day School, and as administrator for the Adult Developmental
Training program. As administrator of ICF-DD facilities, Wendy managed
the opening of four new 16-bed Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals
